The NHL has made a change that changes everything for the Canadiens and Cole Caufield
During Saturday night's game in Tampa Bay, there was confusion about the Canadiens' third goal. Initially credited to Cole Caufield, it was an uncertain verdict.
After NHL review, the goal was scored by Josh Anderson. This changes things for the Canadiens for two reasons.
Firstly, Cole Caufield remains at 19 goals. It may seem insignificant, but for a scorer like him, reaching the 20-goal milestone is very important. With around twenty games left in the season, he should still reach it without too much difficulty, but you never know.
For Josh Anderson, who is not having a great season, it's important to get on the scoresheet, if only for confidence.
It's agreed that this modification doesn't change the outcome of the game or the overall season for the two players involved. However, let's hope it helps Anderson break through for good and that Cole will have that extra motivation to score his 20th, adding to the excitement as the season wraps up.
