Martin St-Louis is doing a good job behind the Canadiens' bench, but he isn't alone, and he is the first to give credit to his assistants.

The only small drawback that keeps coming up in discussions is the level of experience, with Alex Burrows, Stéphane Robidas, and Trevor Letowski.

The coaching staff doesn't have a lot of experience in their respective positions, which seems to irritate some people in the hockey world.

Pierre Maguire is one of them. According to him, the arrival of Gerard Gallant would be beneficial to the Canadiens to support Martin St-Louis.

«For Gallant, it would be a return as an assistant in Montreal after eight years as a head coach and a Jack Adams.»

It's certain that Gallant is a great coach and would bring a lot to the Canadiens.

However, I like the current staff and the idea that everyone grows together, both the players and the coaching staff and management.

With a Jack Adams won in 2018 with the Golden Knights, a Stanley Cup final, and several playoff appearances as a head coach, it would be surprising if Gallant accepted an assistant position, especially under people with less experience.
