Kent Hughes has made some very interesting moves for both the present and future of the Canadiens, and according to Renaud Lavoie, it might not be over yet.

Here's a simple overview: There have been rumors about several big names this summer, and two of these players still haven't changed addresses. The journalist believes it's not over and that Kent Hughes is still in the mix.

Indeed, Rutger McGroarty, Trevor Zegras, Martin Necas, and Yaroslav Askarov, among others, have all been linked to the Canadiens at various times.

"The Canadiens are involved in several discussions,» confirmed Renaud Lavoie on Monday on BPM Sports radio. «Perhaps a bit less now that the Laine situation is settled, but for all the names you just mentioned, there have been discussions with the Canadiens."

So it's true that all the names mentioned above have intrigued the GM at some point over the summer, and interest remains for Trevor Zegras and Martin Necas.

The player who wasn't targeted by Kent Hughes is Patrik Laine, and he is the one who ultimately ended up in Montreal.

Personally, I don't believe the Canadiens will make any more major additions this summer. If Trevor Zegras or Martin Necas end up being traded to the Canadiens, it will be later in the year or next summer, or perhaps in a few years.

The asking price is clearly too high, but sooner or later, they will become unrestricted free agents, and at that point, their GM will have to lower expectations.
