Since then, Toffoli has played for the New Jersey Devils and the Winnipeg Jets. He will finally be back on the free agent market this summer and will have the luxury of signing wherever he pleases.
With a 33-goal season under his belt, Toffoli can still contribute to an NHL team, and the Canadiens could use his contribution on the second line.
And if you ask the former #73 of the Habs where he would like to play, there's a good chance he'll tell you Montreal.
Indeed, the Toffoli couple loves Montreal, and they've never hidden it. If there's a potential fit with the Canadiens for another contract, the forward wouldn't be too hard to convince.
Moreover, the couple is currently in Montreal, and Mrs. Toffoli posted a video of a dinner with the Evans.
Clearly, current players and recent ones who have passed through the Habs organization are happy to be in Montreal.
More and more of them stay in the city year-round, even in the summer.
For the Toffolis, it's fantastic to see them in town, and we really hope that Kent Hughes will consider the option of signing him, just as Marc Bergevin did four years ago.
