Transaction between the Montreal Canadiens and the Winnipeg Jets: Kent Hughes has his answer, and it's over
There have been many trade rumors between the Canadiens and the Jets, and it's finally confirmed for Kent Hughes.
Indeed, Rutger McGroarty has been linked to the Canadiens more than once, but he has just been traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins, according to Elliotte Friedman.
It's worth noting that the young forward requested a trade from the Jets, not out of disdain for playing in Winnipeg, but because he believes he's ready for the NHL, while the organization wanted to send him to the American League.
Rutger McGroarty amassed 52 points in 36 games in the NCAA last season, which is simply brilliant.
The Penguins have therefore acquired a forward with a bright future, and a possible solid companion for Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin.
Details of the trade will follow.
