Troubling Departure of Martin St-Louis: Trevor Letowski Breaks the Silence
On Saturday night, Martin St-Louis was noticeably absent from the Canadiens' game in Calgary. We later learned that he had to leave for family reasons, specifically concerning his son.
We don't have any further details, and that's sufficient. The family has the right to keep it private, and we must respect that. We wish them all the best going forward.
Trevor Letowski took over as head coach for the game, and he will continue to serve as interim coach until further notice. He admitted to appreciating the experience but not under these circumstances.
"He's the leader of our group. It's an emotional time for all of us, the coaches, and the players. We want to rally around it, but we weren't able to do that tonight," Trevor Letowski said about Martin St-Louis.
One thing is certain: expect the Canadiens to bounce back from this defeat in Calgary. The players and coaching staff will want to do it for Martin, and I wouldn't be surprised if they succeed as early as Tuesday in Edmonton, if Martin is not back, of course.
