Patrick Roy is already making headlines in his first practice with the Islanders
As you probably learned yesterday, Patrick Roy is officially the new head coach of the New York Islanders. It's a highly publicized hiring for them, as Roy was quite sought after.
His arrival is making waves on Long Island. Present for his first practice with the players on Sunday morning, there was a crowd of journalists, which is very unusual in that location.
Renaud Lavoie was dispatched on-site, and there were many journalists for his press conference. His arrival will undoubtedly be a boost to the popularity of this hockey market, which is not always easy.
Now, it remains to be seen how long it will last. One thing is for sure, he put on quite a show! We wish him a lot of success, but not on Thursday night against the Canadiens!
