Fourth overall pick after Jesperi Kotkaniemi in 2018, Brady Tkachuk has established himself as one of the most valuable players in the Bettman circuit. His intensity, physical presence, offensive talent, and leadership make him a player coveted by the other 31 organizations.

The only downside... He has never played a playoff game in six seasons.

Questioned about this matter at the end-of-season press conference, the captain didn't mince his words, and it's understandable that he's fed up with the organization's poor decisions.

"I've just finished my sixth year and I haven't accomplished anything. I haven't had the chance to play important playoff games, as I had imagined."

"It's frustrating and difficult. I won't lie to you: I had high expectations starting the season. They haven't been met, and it's very disappointing." - Brady Tkachuk

With a record of 37-41-4, the Senators missed the postseason once again, finishing seventh in the Atlantic division. Only the Montreal Canadiens finished behind them. General manager Pierre Dorion was shown the door, as well as the head coach.

The 24-years-old American was clear. Even though he surpassed the 35-goal mark this season, it was still very tough. The 2023-2024 season was the toughest mentally in his career, according to him.

"This is the toughest season I've had mentally. We play a sport, but there's so much pride involved. The fact that it didn't go well for our team was very tough for me mentally. There were some really unpleasant days. Usually, it's always nice to come to the rink. That wasn't always the case this year." - Brady Tkachuk

Former NHL player and now involved in an American television network, Ryan Whitney, had mentioned Brady Tkachuk's name in trade rumors. Whitney talked about a major trade involving the Senators that was looming. It's hard to say why it fell through.

The 24-year-old American will be able to rediscover the joy of playing with the American national team at the upcoming World Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic. He won't be alone, as Shane Pinto and Jake Sanderson will accompany him there.

What will be the price to pay for any organization that desires to acquire the Senators' captain? Expensive! Very expensive!

If you think the Panthers paid dearly for Matthew Tkachuk, you haven't seen anything yet! Brady Tkachuk has a higher market value than his older brother when comparing the two at the same age. It will be interesting to see if the speculations materialize.

If you're Kent Hughes, what would you be willing to give up to acquire Brady Tkachuk?
