There are all sorts of rumors surrounding Mitch Marner. Maple Leafs fans want him out of the organization, and there's significant pressure on management.

Since the team was eliminated, he's been the scapegoat. Marner will be an unrestricted free agent in a year, and the organization absolutely needs to make a decision.

Speculation is rampant, and we've had a very interesting one coming from Greg Wyshynski.

The journalist would send the Maple Leafs' star to Utah, to become the face of the franchise. In return, the Leafs would receive Clayton Keller.

Obviously, we're not talking about the same type of player, but it's in the playoffs where the Maple Leafs need help, and that's where Keller could be very useful. He brings a tenacity to his game that Marner doesn't have.

On the other hand, Marner is a star who flirts with 100 points in a season quite regularly and would provide a significant boost to the Coyotes.

For the Maple Leafs, even if Keller is less productive, he's also less expensive, which would be an advantage.

He's earning $7.15 million until 2028, while accumulating two seasons of 86 and 76 points, which is far from ordinary.

It's also worth noting that Keller doesn't have the same caliber of linemates that Marner has, so he would likely be more productive in Toronto.
