Sad announcement regarding Ovechkin: Capitals coach confirms
Let's be honest, very few of us had the Capitals and Alex Ovechkin as winners in the matchup against the Rangers.
New York has an aspiring team, while Washington has a bit of a Cinderella team that barely made it to the playoffs.
To have a chance at winning, the Caps need to rely on their captain, but he's currently experiencing a dry spell. Their coach indicated what's going on, and it doesn't bode well.
Spencer Carbery on Alex Ovechkin: «He looks a little bit off. He's struggling.»
- Via Peter Baugh
The Rangers have won the first two games, and unless there's a win in the next game, the hill to climb could be too steep against this powerhouse.
Spencer Carbery is a rookie coach, and he probably spoke too much in the heat of the moment. He outright said that Ovi's confidence isn't there, which is quite sad.
However, don't take it too lightly. If he decides to turn it on, he can change the course of the series single-handedly.
