Much like Lou Lamoriello, who doesn't allow anyone to have a beard or less neatly kept hair, Bettman has his principles, which not everyone agrees with.
The NHL has evolved, but some people remain stuck in old ways. Unfortunately, when you're the commissioner, you can't afford to be too inflexible.
Even though Bettman has been the boss for 30 years, he needs to adjust, which he hasn't done. This is evident with the banning of pride events in the NHL. Fortunately, many teams disregard this and continue their activities.
At last Friday's draft, Gary reprimanded one of the Devils' executives because his shirt was unbuttoned. Really, Gary?
Let's just say that this scene made the rounds on the web. The Devils' 10th pick, Anton Silayev, was overshadowed by Bettman's unnecessary action on what was the best day of his life.
I don't know about you, but I greatly lament that the NHL still has dinosaurs who refuse to adapt to a much more permissive mindset than 50 years ago.

Bettman a posé un drôle de geste devant les caméras et c'était vraiment exagéré
