The one expected by experts to hear his name called at the very top of the 2024 NHL Draft, Macklin Celebrini, was spotted at the Bell Centre in Montreal earlier this week.

As the top North American prospect on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau's list, Macklin Celebrini is on everyone's radar. The 17-year-old forward has played on the same team as a certain Lane Hutson.

While the draft is an imperfect science, the likelihood of Celebrini slipping to the second spot is slim. The forward for the Boston University Terriers amassed an impressive total of 32 goals and 32 assists for 64 points in just 38 games this season in the NCAA.

Open secret... Macklin Celebrini is one of Lane Hutson's closest friends. He not only comments on Lane Hutson's posts but also on those from the Montreal Canadiens featuring his friend.

We'll have to wait for the NHL lottery to determine the draft order for the upcoming amateur draft. Although Celebrini has shown a keen interest in continuing his career in Montreal, he knows full well that the San Jose Sharks have the best odds of drafting him. With an 18.5% chance, let's just say the odds are not in favor of the Tricolore.

His father recently revealed they already have a plan in place if he's drafted by the Bay Area team.

In short, there was a significant visitor at the Bell Centre on Tuesday against the Detroit Red Wings. We're not talking about Carey Price or Paul Byron here... Celebrini was present for his friend Lane Hutson's first home game.

Wow! That speaks volumes about Celebrini's relationship with Lane Hutson. He made the trip from Massachusetts to Montreal! Journal de Montréal reporter Jean-François Chaumont revealed the information.

"In total, there were 16 Terriers players in a Bell Centre suite. Macklin Celebrini, the future top pick in the 2024 draft, was also there."**

Clearly, Hutson was an extremely well-liked player in the Terriers' locker room.

The Canadiens have an 8.5% chance of winning the lottery. Could these two men be reunited?
