It took a few seasons, but Lafrenière is seriously starting to become the player we expected to see and it started last year with a 57-point season.
So far, he has 6 points in 5 games. If he keeps up the pace, he will get more than 80 points, which would obviously be excellent, even for a first overall pick. It is certainly always fun when you play with players like Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad.
So we look forward to seeing him at the Bell Centre when he comes, and I am sure he is looking forward to coming to play in front of his family and friends. But it might not work out this time.
Alexis was absent from practice at the Bell Centre today and the organization mentioned that he has an upper-body injury. His condition will be evaluated daily. Hopefully it's not too serious, because he's had a very solid start to the campaign.
It's a real shame, especially for his loved ones, since many of them had most likely bought tickets. Born in St-Eustache, Laffy knows a lot of people for whom the Bell Centre is close by.
We don't have confirmation yet beyond a doubt that he won't be playing Tuesday night, but let's just say that things aren't looking too good for now.
We really hope he gets back on his skates quickly and continues where he left off with his very good start to the season.
