This afternoon, we learned through David Pagnotta that Corey Perry had officially reached an agreement with the Edmonton Oilers. There were rumors earlier this week, but it's now said to be confirmed.

However, there were no details available about this agreement, which should be officially announced by the team tonight or tomorrow. Frank Seravalli shed some light on the situation, although the exact terms are still unknown.

"Decision coming soon for Corey Perry, but nothing done yet between Perry and #Oilers. Certainly trending.

It's been an exhaustive process - both in due diligence and fit - involving suitors like #FlaPanthers, #NYR, #GoBolts, and others.

Expect a deal near league min $.

If it is Edmonton, and it looks like it is, you could see him in their lineup as soon as this week.

Perry has been skating and training and can play his way back into game shape.

#Oilers have a bye week break and after All-Star, they don't play again until Feb. 6." - Frank Seravalli

This suggests that many teams were interested in Perry, and he had the luxury of choosing where to sign, especially since he will likely be paid the league minimum salary.

Playing with Connor McDavid likely played a significant role in his decision. More details to come.
