Gary Bettman is about to make a major announcement that will greatly please the fans
As NHL hockey is currently on pause and the All-Star weekend begins this Friday evening with the skills competition, the timing is perfect for Gary Bettman to hold a press conference.
All eyes are on Toronto, and the commissioner will likely have to address questions he may not want to answer, related to the 2018 Team Canada junior scandal and the four accused players from the League.
As expected, and exactly as anticipated, Gary has more than one trick up his sleeve, as he is set to announce a major piece of news that will automatically overshadow the scandal.
According to Chris Johnston, the NHL is about to officially announce the return of players to the Winter Olympics in 2026.
"In addition to the 2025 Four Nations tournament, the NHL and NHLPA will announce a return to the 2026 Olympics this afternoon, per sources.
Best on best hockey is back."
While NHL players have not participated in the Olympics since 2014, we will finally get to see the best players in the world compete in this unique event.
It's excellent news, coming at a rather peculiar moment.
