The much-anticipated return of Patrick Roy as an NHL head coach is still pending. One might think that he hasn't received any offers and teams are still hesitant to commit to him, but that's completely false.

Indeed, Roy has received offers from two teams, but he has turned them down. He is currently on a professional hiatus and has the luxury of choosing where he wants to work.

According to Ray Cloutier, the offers came from teams in the West, and Patrick no longer wants to travel as much.

"It's much more challenging to travel in the West than in the East. [...] In Denver, there was often a significant time difference. In the long run, for travel, he had already told me about it, and I think that's one of the reasons why he's less interested. As you age, these little details become important in your eyes, in your decisions, I believe."

Roy may not be that old, but he has never really stopped, serving as a general manager and head coach in the junior league. Taking a break and waiting for the right opportunity is certainly a good idea for him.

One thing is certain: Roy's next destination in the NHL will be in the Eastern Conference. If you want my opinion, he will go to Ottawa, and it will be announced early in the summer.
