Major: Corey Perry on the verge of signing with the Montreal Canadiens' archenemy?
We are all eagerly awaiting to see where Corey Perry will continue his career. Canadiens fans would love to see him back with the team, but realistically, it's a safe bet that Perry would want to play for a contending team.
According to Carlo Colaiacovo, a former NHL player turned TSN insider, there is strong mutual interest between the Maple Leafs and Perry. The forward is currently in London, Ontario.
Perry's qualities as a player, leader, and veteran, along with his playoff experience, would undoubtedly be a significant asset for the Maple Leafs.
Now, the question remains whether it would be enough. Recall Ryan O'Reilly last year openly stating that there is something toxic in the locker room. There were also players like Joe Thornton and several others who played a similar role, without success.
Regardless, it would be strange to see Perry in the uniform of one of the Canadiens' archenemies.
