Now that the sheriff is in Laval and Pezzetta is more or less the 13th forward, the rumors are even more persistent. And the Flyers just made an announcement that fuels the speculation even more.
Indeed, the La Salle native received bad news as he will be scratched again for Thursday night's game. He is now the 13th forward in Philadelphia.
There's no doubt that the Canadiens would be a more formidable team with Nicolas Deslauriers. In recent weeks, we've seen Justin Barron, Cole Caufield, and several others targeted with solid, borderline hits.
The lack of size, coupled with the fact that the Habs take a lot of penalties and don't produce much on the power play, means that other teams do as they please against the Canadiens, knowing that the risks of paying the price are minimized.
Deslauriers played 80 and 81 games in the last two seasons. He has scored 10 goals in Montreal, which is excellent for a 4th line player.
Unfortunately, given the mindset of the Canadiens, I highly doubt that Kent Hughes would want to acquire him, but we are still allowed to dream!
