The NHL causes a surprise with a special statement featuring Juraj Slafkovsky and Alexis Lafrenière
Say what you want, but few people would have predicted Juraj Slafkovsky's current progression. Just three months ago, he was still considered a possible flop, despite being only 19 years old.
Since December, the Slovak has undergone a transformation. Something special happened, and he has excelled in every aspect, from confidence to positioning.
All of this has led to a comparative record between him and Jack Hughes, one of the NHL's best forwards. Both players had almost identical statistics after 92 games.
Now, we can see a comparison between the first five overall picks after 100 games in the NHL. This is where we notice how Juraj has nothing to be ashamed of in his performances.
It's not easy to perform in the best league in the world, especially at 18 years old. Only incredible talents like Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, or Connor Bedard can achieve that.
Even Nathan MacKinnon had rather modest statistics in his early years. He is now one of the best players in the world, year after year.
