It's not for nothing that David is valued so highly on the market. He may not be spectacular, not scoring many points, but he is involved at all levels and is a true warrior, besides being an undisputed leader.
According to Marco D'Amico, Savard's value is simply enticing.
It's even easy to imagine that if Kent Hughes wants to trade him, he will probably get more. The question remains, though: does he want to trade him?
The answer is not confirmed, but most likely, it won't happen. Firstly, the Canadiens' general manager mentioned just a few weeks ago that he had no intention of moving him.
Furthermore, Hughes has the habit of warning and reassuring his players. He is a man of great class who is highly respected. Recall the Jeff Petry situation, where he did everything to accommodate him twice, and Joel Edmundson, to whom he openly stated that he would not be traded at the last deadline but possibly during the summer.
It's precisely what happened in the end, with Edmundson leaving during the summer, without it being a surprise. For David, the fact that Hughes hasn't mentioned a possible trade is worth its weight in gold.
