Controversial trade: Former Canadiens player Jesperi Kotkaniemi traded at the trade deadline? It could happen today
The Hurricanes have formed an excellent team and made some acquisitions to add depth. First, Jake Guentzel is a significant addition, and Evgeny Kuznetsov is a big question mark.
Undoubtedly, there will be decisions to be made due to congestion in the forward lines. Jesperi Kotkaniemi was, before these two acquisitions, the team's fourth center. Here's what the center lineup looks like now:

In short, Kotkaniemi is clearly no longer in the Hurricanes' plans, at least in the short and medium term. If there's one player who could leave, it's undoubtedly him.
