Major: Florian Xhekaj is unstoppable in the OHL and becoming frightening
It was a surprise to see the Canadiens select Arber Xhekaj's brother, Florian, in the 4th round of the last draft. The younger Xhekaj never really stood out in the OHL, but if we go by his older brother, their development may be a bit later than average.
Already in a short amount of time, Florian has grown three inches and continues to add muscle to his frame. He's currently playing with the Hamilton Bulldogs in the OHL and is making waves, both literally and figuratively.
In five games so far, Florian has been ejected from the game three times. Once for slewfooting, another for leaving the bench to confront an opponent, and the other for instigating a fight. He also has 4 points on the scoresheet.
He will undoubtedly need to tone down his aggression and find a way to better control his emotions, but he's turning into a true force. If he keeps producing, he might become a more significant asset for the future of the Canadiens than originally thought.
