He had a bit of a tough start, but since the 20th game, he's found his stride and has been producing very well. So much so that he's regularly playing with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen, in addition to getting quality time on the power play.
The forward also had a very nice streak of 64 games without injury, which is major for him, as it hadn't happened in the last five seasons.
Unfortunately, that streak has just ended.
I really hope it's not serious and that he can come back strong very soon. Drouin will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and he'll certainly want to sign an extension with the Avalanche or elsewhere, with a salary increase.
He represents the biggest bargain in the NHL this season when you compare points per game (except for players on their entry-level contracts).
I want to see Jo succeed, and I want it to be for many years. He has a lot of talent, and he deserves it.
