Official statement from the Devils regarding Jake Allen, and it's confirmed
The New Jersey Devils acquired goaltender Jake Allen in the past few days, specifically on Friday. It's unfortunate for him that there's a three-way rotation, and he wasn't even considered in the lineup for his new team's first game.
Martin Brodeur mentioned how hard the Devils worked to attract the goaltender to New Jersey, so we can believe they have a good plan for him. Let's hope so.
Things are looking up today, as he will be in the lineup for tonight's game.
"Jake Allen (NJD) will make his Devils' debut and start on Thursday @ DAL."
Allen really has a good chance to rejuvenate his career with the Devils, who are a very good team. As their GM said last week, the goaltenders haven't done the job this year, and they've addressed the situation.
