The Columbus Blue Jackets organization issued a touching statement following the tragic news, but there has been relative silence since. Today, some players and the management met with the media, and it was very emotional.
Firstly, General Manager Don Waddell mentioned that all members of the organization will be present at the funeral. The players come from all over the world and, in some cases, are currently overseas.
Erik Gudbranson, Zach Werenski, Boone Jenner, and Sean Kuraly met with the media, and it was a very touching moment. There is a huge void in the lineup, but an even bigger one in their hearts.
The death of Johnny Hockey and his brother has certainly been highly publicized, but never enough to match the caliber of the men they were, according to the testimonies we hear. May they rest in peace, and may their memories live on forever.
