Gary Bettman and Bill Daly have confirmed that the NHL will be expanding, with only the specifics of how many, when, and whether the Quebec Nordiques will be involved still to be determined.

Bettman's right-hand man did not specify the number of expansions expected, but according to various sources, there will soon be either 34 or 36 teams.

Journalist Adam Proteau suggests that Quebec should definitely have its chance if there are only two expansions, so imagine if there are four.

"Whether it's Houston, Atlanta, Quebec, or elsewhere, Adam Proteau believes the question is when,' not if,' the NHL will eventually have 34 teams. It's just not a priority at the moment."

With Gary Bettman at the helm, I unfortunately don't think Quebec would be a possibility with 34 teams, but with 36, it would be almost assured.

According to Proteau, Quebec was overlooked during the expansions of Vegas and Seattle, as well as the relocation of the Coyotes. It is high time for the Nordiques to rise from the ashes.
