Corey Perry's situation: the truth would have been hidden from the Oilers
The Corey Perry incident, which led to his expulsion from the Chicago Blackhawks, has unexpectedly resurfaced.
Perry, now with the Edmonton Oilers and enjoying a new opportunity, has recently drawn attention in Chicago.
We thought this chapter was closed, but it isn't.
Chicago journalist Mark Lazerus was asked about the exact circumstances of Perry's contract termination by the Blackhawks in November 2023. There were many rumors about this incident.
According to Lazerus, the most credible incident involves alcohol in Columbus after a game against the Blue Jackets, and a member of the Blackhawks' staff, possibly a female employee.
Here is Lazerus's recent response:
"My poker friends, my cardiologist, and my family have all asked me what really happened. My answer is the same: we publicly shared what we could. Do we know more than you? Yes. But we don't report anything without sufficient evidence."
"A more pertinent question: what do the Edmonton Oilers know? I'm only scratching the surface. Part 2 of the answers will come soon."
Lazerus seems to suggest that even the Oilers don't know the full story.
