Habs prospect leaves the organization
A forward has recently officially left the Montreal Canadiens organization to join another well-known team in Quebec.
The young Xavier Filion, who played for the Trois-Rivières Lions and was part of the Canadiens' structure as a promising prospect for the Laval Rocket, has signed with the Jonquière Marquis.
Xavier Filion is no longer part of the Montreal Canadiens organization
Here is the official announcement:
"SIGNING | The Jonquière Marquis have announced the signings of Xavier Filion and Alex Rondeau for the upcoming season.
In the last LNAH draft, Xavier Filion was a first-round pick by the Marquis, fifth overall, while Alex Rondeau was a second-round pick, 12th overall."
- North American Hockey League (LNAH)
At 21 years old, Filion is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 173 pounds.
He notably accumulated 41 points in 48 games with the Rimouski Océanic in 2023 in the QMJHL, as well as 33 points in 66 games with the Quebec Remparts in 2022 (13 points in 21 playoff games).
We wish him great success in Jonquière, even though we would have liked to see him develop within the Montreal Canadiens' structure in the coming years.
He is clearly highly anticipated in Jonquière.
