A major rumor has just been confirmed regarding the Habs and a possible transaction
Over the last few days, many journalists have mentioned that the Tricolore is actively trying to move up a few ranks in the upcoming draft in hopes of getting their hands on an extremely promising center player such as Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson, or Will Smith.
In an excellent article published in the Journal de Montréal, Jonathan Bernier confirmed this rumor, stating that the general manager of the Canadiens, Kent Hughes, had initiated numerous discussions with his counterparts to possibly conclude a transaction in the coming days.
"[This rumor is] confirmed by a source revolving in the higher spheres of an NHL team.
The Canadiens are very aggressive to climb among the top four. They are ready to pay dearly, said this source. Let's not kid ourselves. The player the Canadiens want is Will Smith."
It is very interesting to note that Kent Hughes is currently very active in ensuring he can draft a player who will have a considerable impact on the reconstruction process put forward by the organization.
There is no longer any doubt and the rumor is confirmed by many reliable sources: the Canadiens want to move up to select between the second and fourth rank during the draft.
