Big statement from Joshua Roy about his anticipated call-up from the Montreal Canadiens
Joshua Roy had a thunderous start in the professional league, collecting 12 points in just five games. He was leading the league in scoring and seemed to be in his element.
However, things have cooled down as he hasn't scored any points in the last five games. The contrast is quite striking, but Josh remains optimistic.
He is learning what it means to be a professional, dealing with bus travels, playing repetitive matches against the same opponent, and more. It's an experience he has to go through, and he's fully aware of it. He has complete trust in Kent Hughes and Martin St-Louis regarding the decisions made for his development.
"I am very patient; I am doing well in Laval, getting a lot of ice time. For my development, it's great. I am certain that Martin and Kent Hughes, if they have to call me up, it will be at the right time."
- Joshua Roy
This statement speaks volumes about the maturity of the young man, who is only 20 years old. It's easy to forget his age because he sometimes behaves like a veteran.
As for his current scoring drought, there's no need to worry. Even Sidney Crosby has gone through five games without scoring. Roy will bounce back; he has too much talent and IQ for it to last.
