Canadiens' goaltender file: Jake Allen provides an update and comments on Samuel Montembeault
What is frustrating about the three-goalie rotation that has been happening in the last two months with the Canadiens is that even if one of the goalies is completely dominant, they have to wait their turn and sit out two games before playing again.
This reality has been particularly true for Samuel Montembeault, who has been playing very good hockey lately. Martin St-Louis finally made the decision to give him two consecutive starts, which is well-deserved.
The rotation is finally over, and Montembeault is starting to establish himself as the team's number 1 goalie.
Jake Allen, in his usual classy manner, certainly wasn't going to complain. Here's what he had to say when asked about his teammate:
Samuel Montembeault will get a second start in a row against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.
Jake Allen: "He deserves to play. He has been one of the best goalies in the league for the past 3 weeks. I will get my chance, Cayden too."

Not only is Allen confident, but he's not afraid to give credit where it's due. In other words, Montembeault didn't steal his second consecutive game; on the contrary.
Against the Kings, one of the best teams in the league this season, it's the current goalie of the hour on the team who will have the task of stopping them.
