Cayden Primeau and the Montreal Canadiens: it is confirmed for the goaltender, as the Canadiens will face the Sharks on Friday
The Canadiens are currently in San Jose, where they will face the Sharks on Friday afternoon. We take this moment to remind you that the game will be broadcast at 3:30 PM Eastern Time.
As it seems to be the new trend, Martin St-Louis may have already chosen his goaltender for the match. We say it's the coach's decision, but it may have been imposed on him. To be continued.
Since Jake Allen guarded the net against the Bruins on Saturday night, and Samuel Montembeault was in goal on Wednesday night in Anaheim, Cayden Primeau should be in net against the Sharks, if we follow the logic of the past few weeks.
Based on what we saw in today's practice, Primeau was alone in front of his net, while Monty and Allen were alternating on the other side.
So, the youngest of the three goalies was going through the routine of the starting goaltender, which is usually a good indicator.
Primeau should therefore have his 4th start of the season. It's surprising, as we thought he would either be placed on waivers, traded, or simply not play.
