At an award ceremony for Slovakia's best under-20 player, a coveted honor for young Slovak hockey players, this year's winner is causing quite a stir.
To the great surprise of fans, it's the 10th pick of the last draft, Dalibor Dvorsky, who was chosen this year, while facing off against defender Simon Nemec, as well as the overall first pick of 2022, Juraj Slafkovsky.
Let's just say that given the fact that Slafkovsky played in the NHL this year, compared to Dvorsky who was playing in Sweden's second league, the result has surprised many. Even Nemec, who had a good first season in the AHL, seemed a better choice than Dvorsky.
But hey, that doesn't define a career, and I suppose that the Canadiens' player is currently focusing all his attention on his second professional season.
