One thing is certain though: Connor Bedard will be called out first by the Chicago Blackhawks.
Still, for the rest of this draft, anything could tip either way due to Michkov's immense potential, which many experts deem almost equal to Bedard's.
At second in the draft order, the majority of pundits believe Anaheim Ducks will select Adam Fantilli though a surprise could certainly occur when June 28th rolls around.
At least that's what Jeff Marek from Sportsnet has suggested. In his latest episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast, Marek puts us on notice to watch the Ducks in Michkov's case.
Of course he doesn't state it will happen for sure, but he does say that based on discussions with various people, Ducks' GM Pat Verbeek has learned from Steve Yzerman's school, which means he won't be too swayed by general opinion or experts' consensus.
This means if he deems Michkov being the best option for his organization, then he could pick him without remorse even if the consensus choice was Adam Fantilli.
Given Anaheim's depth at center with Trevor Zegras and Mason McTavish as well as lack of promising wingers, many suggest that their optimum selection disregarding any red flags would be Michkov come first round draft day. The entire first round is sure to be highly exciting!
