Goaltender transaction between the Montreal Canadiens and the Seattle Kraken: the rumor is now confirmed
We talked about it a while ago, there were rumors that the Kraken and the Canadiens were in talks for a goaltender, but nothing was official.
It's now confirmed by Bruce Garrioch. The Kraken wanted to acquire a new goaltender even before Philip Grubauer got injured. Now that he will be out for a while, negotiations are said to have intensified.
So, it wouldn't be surprising if a trade between the two teams is announced after the holidays. This could involve Jake Allen or Cayden Primeau.
This is the opportunity Kent Hughes has been eagerly waiting for, and he will have to seize it. Looking at the goaltenders who have been placed on waivers and not claimed, it's evident that the market is not very favorable at the moment, but the speculation has gone on long enough.
Stay tuned after the trade freeze, starting on December 28.
