The player who used to fall at the slightest contact around this time last year is now bringing others down with his physical game. I can tell you that there aren't many who can win a one-on-one battle with him anymore.
With Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, Slaf is proving to the entire hockey world that he is an exceptional player, so much so that he was the most used forward for the Habs on Saturday night. At 19, that's quite an achievement!
According to RDS journalist Luc Gélinas, Slaf will be nothing less than the best forward for the Canadiens in two or three years. That's a really bold statement.
When such a renowned journalist like Luc, who has been covering the Canadiens for decades, makes such a declaration, it's quite spectacular. He has seen many players come through Montreal, and I've never seen him say something like this about another young player in the organization before.
We are witnessing something special right now. It's truly beautiful to see Slaf's progression from game to game, and it bodes well for the future.
