In the last few hours, Hockey Canada has finally confirmed the coaching staff who will lead the Canadian team in preparation for the upcoming World Junior Championship to be held in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Indeed, Alan Letang, who was notably the assistant to Dennis Williams last year, will hold the position of head coach for this highly anticipated tournament by fans. Moreover, he has extensive experience at the international level, having served as the general manager of Croatia in 2012-2013, as well as the head coach in the 2015-2016 tournament.

Additionally, we were also treated to an excellent surprise as Quebecer Gilles Bouchard will be the assistant coach for the Canadian team. This will be his first experience with the national team, having coached the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies from 2013 to 2018. After a stint with the Tampa Lightning's farm team, Bouchard will make a return to Quebec soil this season, having been named head coach of the Sherbrooke Phoenix.

Moreover, according to information shared by the excellent Darren Dreger, former star defenseman of the Chicago Blackhawks, Brent Seabrook, will also be part of the leadership group. Note that he participated in the World Junior Championship twice, in 2004 and 2005, securing the gold medal during his second participation in this prestigious tournament.
