Major announcement from Bob Hartley
With the firing of DJ Smith from the Ottawa Senators, the first name that came to everyone's mind is Patrick Roy. However, there is another very interesting candidate in Bob Hartley.
He responded to the question in the clearest way possible. Not only will he not become the coach of the Senators, but he will not return as a coach at all.
"I am very well in my life. I love what I do. I rediscover things I used to do in the past. I had an absolutely incredible career. Advising at the start of the season, part-time, for a few weeks, I would come back. I also have three grandchildren. I won the Stanley Cup, and I'm not saying I wouldn't like to win it again, but I'm 63 years old, life goes by quickly, and it's fragile. As much as hockey was my drug and gave me everything, today, I focus on my hockey schools, RDS, and BPM Sports. I'm having fun, and it's fantastic." - Bob Hartley
So, he would only accept to help a team as a consultant. Otherwise, he loves his life, and he seems extremely happy. We are very happy for him.
Those who hoped to see him back behind a bench will have to come to terms with the fact that it won't happen again.
