Montreal Canadiens: the value of Samuel Montembeault's next contract would be known
The negotiations for Samuel Montembeault's contract extension are currently a hot topic with the Canadiens. Kent Hughes is reportedly waiting for this matter to be resolved before making any goalie trades.
Pierre LeBrun mentioned earlier this week that negotiations have begun, and an agreement is expected soon.
Stéphane Waite supports this statement and has suggested likely contract terms, saying, "Samuel Montembeault is worth between 3 and 3.5 million dollars per season for three years."
While it's not confirmed, comparable goalies of his age and experience often sign such deals. Many believe Montembeault deserves this new contract, and there's hope for a swift révolution.
