Signing alert within the Canadiens' organization: A giant-sized defenseman signs a one-season agreement with the Lions de Trois-Rivières
In the last few minutes, a new signature has just occurred within the organization of the Montreal Canadiens. Defenseman Brycen Martin, a third-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres in 2014, has just inked a one-season agreement with the Tricolore's affiliate club in the ECHL, the Lions de Trois-Rivières.
"Brycen Martin will start his very first season with the Lions de Trois-Rivières on October 20th! In addition to his excellent skating, the defenseman will enhance the defense with his robustness!" - Lions de Trois-Rivières
This is an excellent addition for the Trois-Rivières team; he will bring an imposing presence (6'4" and 200 pounds) to the team's blue line this season. The 27-year-old defenseman has a lot of experience, having played over 300 games in the ECHL and 20 games in the American league.
Moreover, Brycen Martin is likely to be able to make a certain offensive contribution, having scored 4 goals and 19 assists (23 points) in 39 games with the Indy Fuel in 2021-2022.
