The Canadiens on the verge of making a sentimental and unexpected acquisition? Adam Nicholas has worked closely with Jeff Gorton's son for a long time
The Montreal Canadiens are always open to acquiring promising young players. This is evident in Kent Hughes' moves with Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook, as well as Marc Bergevin's previous acquisition of Arber Xhekaj.
Jeff Gorton's son, Jack, spent a considerable time on the ice at the CN Sports Complex on Friday with Adam Nicholas. Currently playing for Boston University in the NCAA, Gorton has never been drafted.
"Jeff Gorton's son, Jack, on the ice at the Sports Complex for a very long time. Worked early in the session with Adam Nicholas.
21 years old. Undrafted. Plays for Boston University in the NCAA."
- Anthony Martineau
Could this be a plan for the Canadiens? Or is it simply another example of the organization's class, aiming to help the young man in his development? He has not played a single game in the NCAA with his new team yet.
One thing is certain, with 45 points in 54 games in the BCHL at 20 years old, he doesn't represent an offensive powerhouse. If the Canadiens do sign him, it would be a very emotional signing.
