In the last few seconds, the Washington Capitals organization has made a very worrying announcement about former Habs defenseman, Joel Edmundson. Indeed, he will not be practicing with the team today, having suffered an upper-body injury during an intra-team game on Sunday.

We strongly hope that it is not the notorious back injury that kept him out of play for several matches over the last two seasons. We should have more information about the severity of this soon as he will meet with the team's doctors later today.

Now aged 30, the defenseman has spent the last three years with the Canadiens, amassing 32 points in 140 games. Joel Edmundson was traded to the Capitals this summer in exchange for a third and seventh-round pick in 2024.
