The Montreal Canadiens are making a significant move that speaks volumes about the organization
With what happened about ten days ago with Adam Johnson, hockey players around the world are starting to reconsider their own safety, especially when it comes to neck protection.
Injuries can happen quickly. The game is very fast, and skates are very sharp today. No one should lose their life while doing the sport they love, and raising awareness about protective equipment begins within organizations.
The Montreal Canadiens have decided to take action by placing a special order for their players.
"Habs ordered 24 shirts with neck protection to make them available to their players. Suspect a couple might try them soon in practice."
- Eric Engels
It's truly commendable for the Canadiens to do this, and it suggests that the players are certainly open to trying it out. Hopefully, players will decide to wear it during games, which would be a significant victory for safety.
