The Montreal organization could attract a top free agent soon

Since the hiring of Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes at the helm of the team, the organization decided to initiate a rebuilding process to obtain a lineup that can compete against the best teams in the NHL, for several seasons.

Moreover, Martin St-Louis might possibly have one of the least experienced lineups in the entire NHL this year, thus highlighting the youthful shift undertaken by the top brass. This is excellent news, especially since the head coach of the Canadiens has excelled with the young players since his arrival with the Canadiens.

Moreover, the Blue-White-Red has a prospect pool full of talent. These players will certainly contribute to the team's success for many seasons to come. It's no longer a secret to anyone, the Canadiens are destined to a very promising future, and this trend could greatly help the general manager in his quest to bring impact players to Montreal.

This is particularly what expert Eric Engels believes, who was a guest on the podcast The Sick Podcast With Tony Marinaro. Indeed, he mentioned that Martin St-Louis' contribution as head coach and the direction in which the organization is heading were not going unnoticed among NHL members, and could obviously facilitate the signing of quality players in the coming years.

Knowing that the Canadiens will have a huge leeway, nearly 26 million dollars on July 1st and that many quality free agents will be available, we are entitled to wonder if Kent Hughes will manage to make a real splash to help his team rise among the best team in 2025-2026.

Although the Canadiens can count on a very large number of quality prospects, the addition of a star forward would have an immediate impact on the performance of the Montreal organization. We strongly hope that our general manager will be able to attract a top player soon. One thing is certain, the team is heading in the right direction and we are very optimistic about the future of our favorites.
