The New York Rangers make an announcement regarding their top forward
Things are not looking good for the Quebecer forward of the New York Rangers, Alexis Lafrenière. Indeed, after a tough training camp, and being the target of much criticism from fans, the organization has announced that the 2020 first overall pick is injured.
Certainly, things aren't getting better for him, and it's increasingly concerning for the upcoming season. After tallying 39 points in 81 games last year, many journalists were optimistic he could bounce back under the guidance of Peter Laviolette.
However, even though the Rangers' head coach gave him several opportunities in the preseason games, Laffy simply didn't deliver, struggling to regain his offensive touch.
In the first year of his two-season deal, the Saint-Eustache native will have no choice but to rebound in 2023-2024 if he wishes to stay with the New York Rangers in the future.
One thing's for sure, we genuinely hope things get better and that he can finally reach his full potential this season. He surely has all the qualities to succeed in the NHL.
