Trade between the Montreal Canadiens and two other teams: Christian Dvorak's absence gives options to Kent Hughes
With the announcement of Christian Dvorak's season-ending injury, Kent Hughes has a lot of options at the trade deadline.
The GM now has an additional $4.45 million to spend, and he could make a significant move, according to insider David Pagnotta.
Indeed, Hughes might be tempted to acquire a bad contract and get a good prospect in return. Alternatively, a three-team trade remains an option.
The Canadiens' GM could also let go of a player and inflate their value by retaining salary. For example, Jake Allen.
In summary, there are numerous possibilities for Hughes to improve the team. Even if, miraculously, the Habs are in the playoff picture, the future remains the number one priority.
