Two players, one of which is well known in Montreal, have been placed on waivers
In the past few minutes, we have learned that the Arizona Coyotes have put forward Zach Kassian and defenseman Patrick Nemeth on waivers in order to buy out their contracts in the near future.
These two players will thus test the free agent market on July 1st.
After a successful stint with the Edmonton Oilers, Zach Kassian has been unable to establish himself with the Coyotes, registering only two goals in 51 games. The 32-year-old forward had a one-year contract worth 3.2 million dollars for next season.
As for Patrick Nemeth, the 31-year-old defenseman tallied five assists in 75 games this season, which was set to earn him a 2.5 million dollar salary over 2023-2024.
Unfortunately for him, Zach Kassian made headlines in Montreal last year due to his fight with Arber Xhekaj. The Canadiens rookie gave him a violent beating, proving he is surely one of the best fighters in the NHL.
