Arber Xhekaj's contract with the Canadiens: Mom Xhekaj sets the web on fire
Arber Xhekaj signed his two-year contract worth $1.3 million per year on Wednesday.
It's a very favorable deal for the Canadiens and could also turn out to be beneficial for the player if he continues to progress well.
Indeed, Xhekaj could theoretically have signed a longer-term deal with a higher salary, but he opted for a shorter, lower-paying contract, betting on his performance over the next two years for the future of his career.
Shortly after announcing his signing, Xhekaj held a Zoom press conference, where he discussed his desire to succeed with the team and reassured that he is doing well and there's no need to worry about the upcoming season.
