Excellent news for the Montreal Canadiens: A first at the Bell Centre in 2024 regarding forward Kirby Dach
As you know, Kirby Dach is injured and will not return to play this season. He has successfully undergone knee surgery and has several months of rehabilitation ahead before he can hope to return to the game.
This week, we saw him skating at the CN Sports Complex, but it's not a sign that he will be back soon. It's simply part of his rehabilitation.
In fact, his knee could swell if he skips steps and pushes too hard before it's fully healed. The doctor who performed the surgery wanted one condition: that he does not return to play before eight to nine months.
However, it's very encouraging to see him back on the ice so quickly. Indeed, Kirby Dach was on skates on Saturday morning, at the Bell Centre no less. It was his first lap in the arena in 2024.
No, he won't be back to play sooner, but it's still very good news for the continuation of his rehabilitation. If his knee hadn't tolerated his first time on the ice, he wouldn't have returned to skates so soon.
