As you know, Kent Hughes acquired the Jets' first-round pick in 2024 in exchange for Sean Monahan. There is also a conditional third-round pick, but let's focus on what is certain.

Unless there's a surprise, this selection should be between the 20th and 32nd picks. The Jets are having a very good season, and they will undoubtedly make the playoffs.

There are precisely two Hometown forwards who could be available in that range. Sacha Boisvert, a native of Trois-Rivières, plays in the USHL and has 40 points, including 23 goals in 38 games.

The second is Maxim Massé, who plays with the Saguenéens de Chicoutimi. He has accumulated 56 points, including 27 goals in 54 games.

According to draft experts Bob McKenzie and Craig Button, Boisvert is listed at the 22nd and 30th spots, respectively. As for Massé, he is listed at the 35th and 23rd spots by the same experts.

It will be interesting to see if the Canadiens want to add local talent to the organization or if they decide to trade this pick and more for players who can help the team now.
